DESIGN1
The entire size of the smartphone is 135 x 69 x 8 mm and weighs 141 g. The front features a 5” screen. Above the screen is the front camera, some sensors and call speaker. Under the display are the 3 dedicated android touch buttons (menu, home and back). On the back is the main camera. Next to the camera on the right side is the LED flash and under the flash is the heart rate monitor. Under the back camera is the symbolic volume rocker. On the top is only the 3.5 mm headset jack and on the bottomin the middle is the micro usb port and next to it on both sides are the main speakers.
SCREEN
The 5” IPS OGS display is the only way you interact with your smartphone. It has QHD (960 x 540 p) resolution which brings around 220 ppi (pixels per inch). The screen wakes up when you double tap the screen so there is no need for the unlock button. You can interact with your smartphone even without touching the screen. It has gesture sensor built in. You can answer calls or swype trough your gallery just with gesture commands.
CAMERA
There is 8 mega pixel camera sensor placed on the back panel of the phone. Right next to it is the led flash. It supports HD quality video recording at 30 fps. On the front, right next to the call speaker is the 2 mega pixel front facing camera. It is perfect for video calls and selfies.
CPU & GPU
It is partly up to the CPU and GPU how well the smartphone is going to preform and render graphics. Kingsing S2 has ARM Cortex A7 quad core CPU clocked at 1.3 GHz and ARM Mali 400 MP2 GPU clocked at 500 MHz. It is all placed on the MTK 6528 SoC. You will be able do download, launch or play any app or game from Google Play store.
RAM & ROM
The other part of the smartphones performance depends on the RAM memory. RAM memory provides the CPU and GPU the memory they need to process their tasks. Kingsing S2 has 1 GB of RAM memory which is enough to run any game from Google Play store but you might experience some force app closes if you are a heavy multitasker and run a lot of apps at the same time.
WIRELESS COMMUNICATIONS & SENSORS
KingSing S2 supports multiple wireless antennas. It communicates with your local carrier via 3G and offers HSPA+ speeds. It can also connect with any WiFi network or you can use it as your WiFi hotspot and connect other wireless gadgets to it. The phone will also handle your navigation via GPS/AGPS antenna or send files to any device via Bluetooth 4.0.
The phone communicates with the outside world trough multiple sensors. It has eye tracking, compass, gyroscope, light, distance, weight, heart rate and gesture sensors built in. The eye sensor tracks your eyes and when you close them, the screen dims. Heart rate tracks the speed of your heart which is very useful for runners or people doing lots of sport activities.
BATTERY
There is 2000 mAh replaceable battery built in. If you are a real power user you should get a second battery or carry a charger with you. There are so many sensors it needs to power so it just won’t last a full day with power use. If you need to save some battery because you won’t be near a plug for a long time, I recommend switching the unimportant sensors such as eye tracking or heart rate monitor off or turning power saver mode on.
OPERATING SYSTEM
Kingsing S2 runs the latest release of Android KitKat operating system. The company tweaked it a little to make more use of it. If you don’t like it there are plenty of launchers available on Google Play or just install a custum rom on it such as MIUI for completely different user experience.
